…before a big movie i’m highly anticipating. indiana jones 4 disappointed me. the star wars prequels disappointed me.

i’m one of those guys that reads all the behind the scenes, look for spoilers, watch every trailer. it’s not good to do that before a movie.

so i went into dark knight having the most ridiculous expectations ever. i was afraid i’d be let down because i expected SO much from it, heath’s performance, christopher nolan doing no wrong (see memento and prestige)… and the list goes on.

i can safely and confidently say that the dark knight destroyed my expectations and then some (and by “and then some,” i mean, “AND FREAKING THEN @#$%ING SOME”)

it’s everything a comic book movie, and everything a BATMAN movie should be. perfect storytelling, acting, drama, pacing, morality play… the list goes on.

few movies come out like this when after the movie i just sit there and can’t believe what i just saw and how entertained i was. it felt like an outer body experience and after the movie, i re-entered the physical world.

one of the few movies that feel like outer body experiences to me include the empire strikes back and the shawshank redemption. the dark knight is up there.

anyways, i figured i’d journal my thoughts about it. go watch it. be entertained. be blown the #$%@ away.
